Well I have about five minutes before the baby wakes up, so I will update fast and furiously.
While I would love to post a bitter diatribe about all the terrible things we are facing right now, and have been facing since July, I refuse. MY JOY WILL NOT BE STOLEN. Well…it was getting stolen but now I’m taking it back. Again I would just like to thank my medication for making me not a crazy loon in the midst of all this, honestly I’ve kept myself together amazingly.
We move on Sunday to an apartment. Our landlord let us out of the lease, with little fight. We are trying to help her fill the house and have had two people who are interested but she’s not calling them back. It’s making this whole thing interesting because we don’t really want to pay rent here and at the apartment next month. I’m positive God will work it all out but it’s making me REALLY nervous.
I’m finally losing the baby weight - it always takes about two weeks and makes me feel pudgy and I’m just VERY happy that it’s starting to fall off.
The wee one is fabulous. We went home for three days last week while the boy was jet setting, and he just charms the pants off everyone. My family adores him and it’s just so much fin to share him. He’s talking a mile a minute, trying to run, and loves to count but just says “three” over and over again. I’m trying to teach him Spanish too, because it would just make him smarter. He’s the absolute best thing that EVER happened to me. His hair is getting so long, and he’s got curls…it’s just too much.
And in sad, sad, sad news. My MacBook’s LCD cracked while I was at home. I’m notoriously hard on everything I own…and the wee one probably doesn’t help. I had the Geniuses look at it yesterday and it’s going to cost $1K to fix. Um…..no thanks. They suggested we claim it on our homeowners insurance. I thought no way. We have my first Powerbook - the boy and I thought we’ll just buy a new battery for that when we can, and in the meantime it’ll work fine. We bought a power cord for it, and came home and the power cord broke off in the machine. Okay…that sucks. The boy got a GIANTO BEANS laptop from work, and with the laptops we’re getting rid of our desktops and going wireless…it’s already been so much fun with the wireless printing and nerdorm that happens every night on the couch. Anyway - I digress. Now with two laptops broken, we’ll have to claim them on the homeowners. Hopefully I can sell the broken ones on ebay for a little bit of cash, to someone who is mechanically inclined. For now I will just look through all the little pretty lines on my MacBook screen and wait for the claim to come through. Then hopefully with the money we get back from both computers will buy me a MacBook Pro. :) And a bigger hard drive.
So that’s life. I’m keeping the icky stuff to myself for now. We’re on our own to move, have to move the boy’s mom’s stuff to Eagan too, have to sell a bunch of stuff….needless to say we’re oging to be busy.

Another trip home without calling Aunt & Uncle Foo??
Tsk, Tsk!
Oh, and BTW, I’ve had quite a bit of luck actually selling seperate working parts of laptops on eBay as opposed to selling a whole broken unit. It obviously adds a lot of overhead to the listing process, but I think the value you get is WAY worth it.
We wish we could rush over there and help out! If only it were that easy!
I love you so much!
