The wee one has figured out how to throw things down the stairs and finds it QUITE amusing. He also all of the sudden comprehended “So Big!” because he did it while our friends John and Nicole were here.
He thinks they’re cool.
His full body temper tantrums are really getting on my nerves. I’m trying really hard to keep my patience, but it’s a lot harder then I thought. Telling him no is like telling him that I killed panda or something. (Panda being his favorite bear to cuddle with) He’s got a short, fiery little fuse. The boy thought I was being dramatic until we were at our marriage meeting on Saturday and told him he couldn’t stick his finger in the vent anymore, and he went balistic.
I don’t believe in spanking, and it seems like when I get up enough nerve to ask parents, they are the spanking ones. So what I have started doing is ignoring him, and just laying him down, after firmly saying, “No.” It’s starting to work for hitting, so I figure it’ll sink in eventually.
He’s also become a big fan of sharing. He shares Cheerios, French Fries, toys, you name it. It’s rather cute.
I still love his being his Mom.
“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. I think everyone should have babies.” That was the boy to John and Nicole today. It still kind of suprises me to hear him say that, and then I remember…oh yea. I’m 27, he’s almost 27, and we have a baby now. We live in a house, we have our church, and our friends, and our baby.
Life is infinitely sweet.
