So magically my site disappeared for about a week, and now we’re back online. Needless to say we’re switching hosting companies. The boy tried emailing them and they’ve just kind of sucked all around.
So what’s been happening. Most exciting….the boy’s rad music website scored a big hit…the Xcel Energy center. We got to pick from all their big name acts for him to review. He was so stoked, because that’s some pretty big exposure for him, and getting to review some HUGE acts. So needless to say, he asked me to pick one…my first choice Faith Hill and Tim McGraw….which promptly got vetoed because well the Porridge isn’t exactly country acts. So I picked Billy Joel.
That’s right kids BILLY JOEL. How excited was I? I was almost peeing my pants when the piano rose up on stage. It’s been a LONG time since I just sat at a concert with my mouth gaping open and just listened to the music. Like closed my eyes and listened. It was amazing. I can’t even tell you. He may be 58, but this guy can ROCK.
There is something essentially spiritual to me about music. Billy Joel reminds me of my Dad, which is why we danced to Billy Joel at my wedding. It reminded me of so many things growing up, running around our back yard. Easters, Christmases, Birthdays, my brother, my sisters. Lately the boy and I have been taking Sunday drives again, and I just am realizing that I liked growing up. Even though psychologically there is a lot I could have done without, I had a lot of good.
The boy left yesterday for DC, gets back tomorrow night. I’m off tomorrow morning to Des Moines. Joyce Meyer is at the Wells Fargo Arena, and I am going to be going. I think I might have a better chance getting in there than in Mpls. Plus the wee one hasn’t seen my parents for awhile, so I’m going to drop him with them while I’m conferencing it up Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Speaking of the wee one, his top teeth are visable now. He’s learned the isty bitsy spider enough to do the climbing spider and washing out. He’s screaming now….VERY loudly. He’s still babbling constantly. He can crawl, but only does so when he chooses to. The real world objects are much more interesting that his toys these days.
One of my friends just had a little baby girl, and I took some food over to her yesterday. THAT BABY WAS VERY LITTLE. VERY LITTLE. It’s made me very nostalgic, as I’m finding it so hard to believe my little one is 10 months old already. I can’t believe it sometimes.
So that is the latest and greatest in our neck of the woods. I must clean so Em and Jason won’t think I’m trashy and dirty when they come to watch the Feeb for me tonight.
