So while the Foo’s were here, Mr. Foo noticed that Mr. Gizmo was limping around. I thought maybe his little leg just fell asleep as later he was walking fine. Then yesterday we noticed that our normally pukey cat, because VERY much more pukey. And the limp came back in full force. Then he started growling, a lot at the boy.
So we both kind of panicked and took him to the emergency vet last night. I was expecting the worst, as you know sometimes cats just have cancer, or something awful. We can’t afford a long lengthy hospital stay, or to try and nurse him through kitty chemo or anything like that, and were faced with the prospect of what kind of treatment is too much. It’s an awful discussion to have about a little being that’s been such a huge part of your life for the last six years. I’d do anything to keep him, and to keep him healthy. I’d pay anything, go anywhere, but of course we have Grant and we don’t want him to be not fed or something.
ANYWAY - the vet looked at him last night and decided that he has no knee cap, and his leg is popping in and out of place. She said he needs surgery, it’ll be $800 and then it’ll be fine. Then she gave him some medicine we have to feed Gizmo with a dropper.
Um….yea. That’s probably going to suck.
So, anyway - we’re not supposed to do it until we move so that he’s not completely freaked out and then has surgery. I find that amusing, as his leg IS POPPING OUT OF PLACE. You’d think that would hurt, but she says he is fine. This is when I miss John Broderick (and the fact my brother works there) and wish that I could take him home to have this done. However four hours in the car, and surgery would probably give him a heart attack.
*Sigh*
Here’s hoping they have payment plans.

So uhhh…what happened to his knee cap??
