HELLO!
Well about time to catch ya’all up on my life.
Wahoo….
First my job ROCKS. I have an office. With a door. I have these two huge desks, and all this office equipment and it’s mine, and I can do whatever I want with it. So I moved stuff around, and I hung some stuff up on the walls, and made myself at home. I am still figuring out how everything works, but the cool thing is once I DO figure that out I get to change it, because I’m the Assistant to the Director. I have power, and it’s GOD power so WATCH OUT. (Just kidding totally.)
All in all it’s nice to work for something and someone you completely trust and believe in. My boss Jeanine is the sweetest, most ethical person I’ve ever met besides the boys Mom, and she reminds me SO much of her it’s weird. And Jeanine does large trainings of all the churches leadership positions and I get to help plan those too…which is a lot like what the boys mom does too. Anyhoo all in all I COULD NOT be happier. I met the lady who used to have my job, and now she heads the Childrens Ministry department, so obviously there is even room for growth. Paid vacation, 401 (k), life insurance, 50% off private school tuition, daycare, and preschool….and I’m investing in my eternal life. Ahhh….life is good.
Anyway my whole perspective on living here has changed since I started working here. I interact with people besides my husband, and am going all over the city to do stuff. It’s GREAT!
Tomorrow I get to go drop stuff off at Bethel, and I am so psyched to even set foot on campus there.
Phish this weekend was not the coolest thing I ever saw. I think the concert I saw last time was just sooo good that they couldn’t compare, and I guess most people weren’t to excited about the set lists. It’s hard to complain however about a band who could do an entire tour and never play the same song twice. You just never know what you’re going to get. It was just really sad too because I’ll never see them again, and they are so cool.
I will not however miss the “party” concert, that includes seeing people you don’t think you’ll see, and a lot of pot fumes you don’t want to inhale. Between the drugs and the $7 Guitar “bong” beers, I was ready to leave as soon as I hit the parking lot (AKA “Hippie Haven.”) Plus the part I loved about hippies was the REAL hippies. You know not just the drug addicts who stop bathing because they are stoned, but the people who bring their kids and are FUCKING HIPPIES. Sure they still smoke pot, but not a lot because it’s not a party….it’s an expeirience. Anyway fake hippies are just STUPID, and ruin everyone’s fun. I hate seeing these kids do God only knows how many different drugs, drink 10 beers, and then can’t even watch the concert because they think they’re dying. Listen man, your bad trip is my bad trip because I don’t want you to die or puke on my shoe. This girl in front of me was NOT having fun, and she was just a little thing and she laid on the ground and didn’t talk or move for an hour. I shit you not, I was ready to do CPR. Her friend was trashed and dancing around, and I was so upset about it. TAKE CARE OF YOUR FRIENDS BITCH. She could’ve been dead you know.
On a funnier note, I wore my Bush ‘04 sweatshirt around the campsight and home. (I didn’t have enough balls to wear it to the concert….however it may have been fun just to see Greg freak out.) People at gas stations were saying shit to me. Fucking…..okay I’ll be nice. Let’s just say I don’t feel the need to walk up to some guy in a Kerry shirt and fling a flip flop in his face. So let me wear my sweatshirt. When I want to talk about my clothes, I will wear a shirt that says, “Ask me about my shirt.” America is a funny place to live. PS - I win.
Anyway camping was awesome, and it was so nice to get up late, and be OUTSIDE. I love outside. Especially Wisconsin yes it’s June but you better pack a jeans and sweatshirt nice. Lemons was fun too. He makes great conversation. And he didn’t mess us my pretty towels.
JK
Has anyone seen Moore’s new movie? O’Reilly didn’t seem to think it’s that big of deal, and I am just completely against going to see it. I don’t want to hate Moore, and I don’t want to see Bush bashing…but Michael Moore is smart and funny and makes you think….ARGGGHHH.
